It began as a fishing trip with a friend. Within a year, Rick traded a successful career as a real estate broker in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC for the 350 days of sunshine and natural beauty that attracts vacationers, new residents, and investors from around the world.
Along with the warm charm of its friendly people, in the safe and healthy lifestyle of Los Cabos Rick found paradise and quickly decided to make this beautiful destination his new home.
Raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, following high school Rick joined Team McLaren as a mechanic on their Indy Team and, in 1974, his car driven by Johnny Rutherford won the Indy 500. Rick has also lived in Vail, Colorado teaching skiing, Clearwater, Florida in the yachting industry and as a landscape design/build contractor. Relocating to Arlington, Virginia in 1994, Rick became VP of a commercial landscaping firm and later began a new career as a top real estate broker and exclusive representative of a high-end, custom home builder. To serve his community, Rick became a volunteer firefighter/EMT, and a rescue scuba diver.
Rick’s commitment to his clients is best illustrated by his completion of the following National REALTORS Association courses: Graduate of REALTORS Institute (GRI), Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE), Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), Resort & Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS), PM PRO Certified Power Marketer. Rick achieved his US Brokers license in 2000, which remains in Active status. Rick holds a broker’s license from the Secretary of Education of Mexico, acknowledging his skills and abilities to sell real estate in Mexico. He was also a new agent trainer with Century 21.
With hundreds of career transactions, “My reputation has been built on strong ethics, continuing education, and protecting my clients’ best interests,” says Rick. “I quickly realized my love for real estate was destined to continue in the Los Cabos area, where I have lived full time since 2005.”
Known as ‘The German Shepherd Guy’ you will see Rick and his five German Shepherds, Kia, Shadow, Dahlia, Rocky and Drako, and mixed Luke and Meeah on San Jose beaches every morning. Other passions include riding his Harley, off-road exploration, cooking, golf, sailing, scuba diving, fishing, hiking and volunteering with local charities. Come to the beach and say hello.
