Microsoft Will Spend $1.1 Billion USD in Mexico Over the Next 5 Years
This is exciting news for Mexico! The funds are going towards the creation of a new cloud data center, as well as some other educational projects –three innovation labs and a virtual classroom, in collaboration with Mexican universities.
In addition, Microsoft has developed training and content proposals for teachers to utilize with their students so that they can develop the skill set the job market requires.
Microsoft will also be providing a grant to México Azul (a Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to marine species conservation) to help develop and deploy artificial intelligence software to monitor shark populations in Cabo San Lucas.
The Microsoft cloud and inbound data center will provide cloud infrastructure for public organizations as well as private ones.
